Airports in Nairobi, Kenya
This is the biggest Airport in East and Central Africa, and is the focal point for major aviation activity in the region. Its importance as an aviation centre makes it the pacesetter for other airports in the region. The airport is located 16km (10 miles) to the southeast of central Nairobi, in the Embakasi suburb. The JKIA airport facilities includes a bank and bureau de change, left luggage, telephones and fax, medical aid, a bar and restaurant, duty-free shops selling curios, a post office, tourist information and hotel reservations. There are disabled passenger facilities, baggage handling area and lost and found counter facilities available at the airport. In addition, there are general information desks and travel agency offices. There are 3 passenger terminals in one building, and a separate cargo terminal.

Nairobi Wilson Airport:

This airport is used for flights within Kenya or to neighboring countries. The airport continues to be a busy airline hub for smaller airlines and light aircraft. Distance from Nairobi airport to Nairobi Wilson airport Nairobi Langata is 15 kms. The Nairobi Wilson Airport is South of Langata Road just 2km southwest of the junction with Mombasa Road, very close to the Nairobi National park. Though there are passenger and charter services at Nairobi Wilson Airport, the facilities are not geared for the large-scale tourism. There is no main terminal to the airport. There are various passenger facilities all through the grounds of the airport, usually one for each airline or charter operator that runs out of Wilson. International customs and immigration facilities are available here.

Moi Air Base:

Formerly known as RAF Eastleigh and Eastleigh Airport is a military airport. This particular airport is used by the Kenya Air Force. Additionally, the air base is the home of the East African School of Aviation run by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, which was established at the airport in 1954 as the DCA training school. The airport is also used to train Kenyan Air Cadets. The Moi Air Base, Nairobi military airport is located to the east of Nairobi, near Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. It has a single 7900 ft runway. Due to its military status, the airport is not shown in any official map of Nairobi. Instead, the area is left blank.
